Mazā Grāmata par Saprātīgu Investēšanu
With the support of the pension management company INDEXO and the Investors Club, the world famous financial literacy book "On Smart Investing" written by John C. Bogle has been published.
The book introduces the nuances of investing and the index-linked or passive investing strategy, which provides investors with significantly lower costs and better results in the long term. The book has gained worldwide recognition for its practical and interesting view of the stock markets for a wide range of readers.
J. K. Bogle (1929 – 2019) is the author of many books and he gained his authority in the investment world as the founder and head of the Vanguard Group. Vanguard Group has become one of the largest US and global investment management companies over time, but J. K. Bogle gained recognition as a defender of passive investing, or the index approach. J. K. Bogle's investment philosophy was based on a long-term vision and thoughtful investing as opposed to short-term speculation.
"The long-term results of INDEXO's pension plans and INDEXO itself are one of many proofs that J. Bogle is absolutely right. Investing tied to index funds, which is the basis of Bogle's book and the operation of INDEXO, democratizes investment and gives people such cost and profit advantages that they do not get from traditional investment strategies offered by banks and investment analysts," says Valdis Siksnis, chairman of the board of INDEXO and one of the founders.
"Passive investing based on indices is a great opportunity for an ever-widening circle of people to become investors and enjoy one of the wonders of the world - the power of compound interest. Low cost, wide diversification, low time consumption - these are all benefits of learning the principles of passive investing, which are explained in detail by J. Bogls, everyone can enjoy" emphasizes Kaspars Peisenieks, CEO of the Investors Club.
The book was first published in the USA in 2007, but the 10th anniversary updated and revised edition of the book, which was originally published in 2017, was translated into Latvian. The book was translated into Latvian by Investoru Klubs investment news editor Jānis Škupelis, and the book's editor is Dārta Spridzāne.
